The 33-year-old is apparently being considered by other Premier League clubs, although negotiations are reportedly in progress for the 49-goal scorer to remain at St James’ Park on an incentive deal. Callum Wilson’s departure from Newcastle this summer has long been anticipated due to a lengthy list of ailments that have prevented him from playing as much as he has in the previous two seasons. Wilson, one of Newcastle’s most prolific strikers, joined the team for £20 million from Bournemouth, but his development was severely hampered by injury. Alongside commentators John Obi Mikel, Sami Khedira, Christian Vieri, Ronaldo, Shay Given, Callum Wilson, Claude Makélélé, Kleberson, Mamadou Sakho, and Lianne Sanderson, the hosts will be Ade Oladipo, Kelly Somers, Olivia Buzaglo, and James Richardson. “Meanwhile, Conor McNamara, Rich Wolfenden, Dan O’Hagan, Mike Minay, Pete Odgers, Brandon Smith, Joe Speight, and Jess Charman will commentate alongside co-commentators Andros Townsend, Michael Brown, Brad Friedel, Rob Green, Danny Higginbotham, Don Hutchison, Jonas Olsson, and Anita Asante.” We know Wilson has what it takes to succeed in media since he co-hosted a podcast with Michail Antonio of West Ham, and the two made an entertaining team. Could Wilson pursue it as a career? Who knows? Wilson might put up his boots and become a full-time broadcaster if this works out. Wilson was recently cited as claiming that he still feels he has something to offer, but we doubt that will happen. We wish Wilson the best of luck in whatever he does and wherever he ends up. Even though we’ve slapped Wilson for never being available, it doesn’t lessen our love for what he’s done for Newcastle. Aside from his annoying injury problems, Wilson has been an excellent player and always comes across as a genuinely likable guy.
